Tasty treats and 40s eye-candy at Bea’s Vintage Tea Rooms in Bath

If you’re anything like me and you love a dainty tea set, a bevelled edge mirror and a slick of bright red lipstick, then Bea’s Vintage Tea Rooms are for you. The 1930s/1940s style café in Bath is a charming spot to rest weary feet (from exploring all the lovely city has to offer, of course).

With beautifully set tables covered with embroidered cloths and granny chic  armchairs to choose from, there’s plenty to take in wherever you sit. Fresh flowers, tiny sugar tongs, hanging ceiling lights, dress-makers mannequins sporting gorgeous vintage frocks and more, it’s a beautiful feast for the eyes before you even glance at the menu.

While we went for a tasty lunch of a wartime ploughman’s platter and a delicious vegetarian quiche with salad, the patisserie cabinet full of sweet treats looked divine and I couldn’t help but admire the high tea that a nearby table was enjoying. Sandwiches, scones and cakes all piled high and served by a smiling red-lipstick and vintage-pinny wearing lady. Located near the Fashion Museum, tea at Bea’s is the cherry on top of a lovely day out in Bath.
